New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
In the rural Highlands, Rogart it situated on the Far North line.
Railway type and traffic
Mostly 158s. But there are often charters to Dunrobin Castle or Wick and Thurso.
Environment
In a farmers field, so always chance of animals but when I have been it has been animal free.
Road directions
Rogart is 4 miles from the A9 trunk road, on the A839 between The Mound and Lairg.

Photographic notes
There is a possible shot both ways at Rogart.
Excellent for trains leaving north for thrash if the right loco is around after it has to climb the bank after stopping.
Due to the nature of the line here north (Wick and Thurso) bound workings will actually be heading south!
